
Painted Hills Natural Beef Selected as Vision Award Finalist
September 5, 2003 - Painted Hills Natural Beef has been chosen as a regional winner for the National Cattleman's Foundation's Vision Award.
Painted Hills Natural Beef is being recognized for its vision for the future of the beef industry. This includes a view of innovative ranching: doing traditional and established things in a new way, taking what is worthy or excellent and preserving from the past what predecessors did right. Their ranching vision includes adapting to changing times in ways that enhance and improve - creatively forging their brand out of the best of the past, present and future.
Each year, the Vision Award is given to individuals or companies who the Cattleman's association feels is best able to look towards the future of the beef industry. According to Foundation Chairman Bob Josserand, "these people...provide others with great examples of true innovation and creativity," The National Cattleman's Foundation is the Foundation for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association.
Painted Hills Natural Beef is based out of the small town of Fossil, Oregon in rural Wheeler County. The corporation, which produces hormone and antibiotic free beef, as well as numerous value-added products began business in 1998. There are currently 7 member ranchers who are supported by nearly 50 selected ranchers around the Northwest.
The national winner of the 2004 Vision Award will be names at he 2004 Cattle industry Convention and Trade Show in Phoenix, Ariz., Jan. 28-31,2004.
