Here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions we receive from consumers around the country.
1) Does Painted Hills sell direct to consumers?
~ Painted Hills Natural Beef is a wholesale product distributor. Our primary customers are retail grocery establishments and regional foodservice distributors. We are not currently set up to sell our beef products directly to consumers.
2) Can I buy a quarter/half or carcass of beef from Painted Hills?
~ Because Painted Hills is a wholesale product distributor, we process on a large scale - between 350 and 550 head of cattle each week. In order to provide bulk beef cut and wrapped for consumer use, we would need to take the carcass to a separate processor for cutting. In the end, by the time we determine how we could get the product to the consumer, so many additional costs have gone into the process that it is no longer cost effective.
Our suggestion? Take whatever lump sum you would be willing to pay for the bulk beef to your local Painted Hills Natural Beef retailer and speak with the meat department manager there. Often, you can negotiate this with him/her directly about buying our beef products in bulk quantities.
Finally, don't hesitate to give us a call! There ARE selected retail locations who are or could be able to receive our product in carcass form. Consumers could talk with these retail locations about bulk beef as well. We'd be happy to refer you!
